BOONSBORO -- The Boonsboro Warriors rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning Monday to beat previously unbeaten Williamsport 4-3 in an MVAL Antietam softball game. The Wildcats grabbed a 3-2 lead in the top of the seventh, but the determined Warriors (3-2, 1-0) came right back and scored the winning runs on junior Jessica Manuel's two-out, two-run single down the left-field line. "I was feeling the pressure. It was a fast ball and I hit it," Manuel said of her plate appearance in the seventh inning.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The best singers in the world and the best dancers? Russ Clever says they're on television. The entertainers performing in Greencastle tonight through Saturday, though, are your brothers, fathers and neighbors, who just might tease you during the show. "It's different," Clever said. "I think the reason why this is the 73rd Minstrel Show and it goes on and on, it's certainly not because Greencastle has all the talent in 100 miles. ... I think our biggest asset is you can't turn on the TV and see an old-time minstrel show.

FREDERICK, Md. - To say the North Hagerstown football team faced an uphill battle in order to qualify for the postseason is an understatement. The Hubs needn't look beyond their 0-5 start to understand why. Even after winning their last three games, North still faced the daunting task of playing at Frederick, which had yet to lose a game on the field this season. Anything other than a win would end the Hubs' playoff hopes. And they nearly pulled it off. But Frederick - the No. 19 team in Maryland - got one big offensive play and two key defensive stands in the fourth quarter Friday to hold off North 18-10 to win the MVAL Piedmont Conference title.

GREENCASTLE, PA. - It was a tradition that began in 2004, when Greg Hoover, then president of the Old Home Week Association, said he wanted something new in the weeklong celebration. Cora Crider came up with the idea to have a dog show, and it has been a part of Old Home Week ever since. "I had thought about it for quite a while and never taken the time to mention it," said Crider, chairwoman of the dog show. "We have five more dogs than we did last time. " Old Home Week's second triennial "Fun" Dog Show on Thursday brought 60 dogs to the Jerome R. King playground in Greencastle to display their talents and looks in any of the 10 categories, as well as Best of Show and Best Junior Handler (younger than 14 years old)

Movie review "Hairspray" is about fitting in, about teen rivalry, about discrimination. It's also a lot of fun. Bubbly Tracy (played by Nikki Blonsky), a plus-size teenager, wants to dance on The Corny Collins Show, a hip-swinging, good-time show for teenagers. But that's not her only goal. She also wants to be with the guy of her dreams, Link (Zac Efron), who is going out with the Corny Collins Show's main star, Amber (Brittany Snow). Tracy gets her break when there's an audition for the show.
