The community is invited to St. John's Lutheran Church this week for vacation Bible school. At “Athens: Paul's Dangerous Journey to Share the Truth,” families will step back into time to ancient Greece and the story of Paul's second missionary journey. Children and adults will participate in a Bible-times marketplace, sing songs, play games and visit with Paul daily. The school begins Monday night at the church, at 141 S. Potomac St. in downtown Hagerstown, and will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each night.

Shiloh United Methodist Church, 19731 Shiloh Church Road, will host its annual children's vacation Bible school Sunday, June 9, to Thursday, June 13. Shiloh will begin the celebration with a kickoff party June 9 at 4 p.m. with registration and a free dinner. Vacation Bible school will be each evening starting with a free dinner from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and Bible school from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The program will include crafts, Bible stories, songs, snacks and door prizes. Each child will receive a coupon for a free month of karate lessons.
