Marine Pfc. Adam Shifflett, son of Denny and Karen Shifflett and brother of Nicole Shifflett, all of Hagerstown, graduated Nov. 17 from boot camp at Marine Corps Recruiting Depot, Parris Island, S.C. Shifflett was a Dec. 19 graduate of combat training at Camp Lejeune, N.C., and will return in January for training in the field of command control electrician. Shifflett is a 2006 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. Army Pvt. Corey M. Bodencak, son of John E. Bodencak of Laurel, Del., and Margaret A. Fineagan of Martinsburg, W.Va.

Marine Corps Pvt. James D. Nance, Jr., son of Gladys E. and James D. Nance of Smithsburg, recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., designed to challenge new Marine recruits physically and mentally. Army Pvt. Eric S. Windsor Jr., son of Eric and Ingrid Windsor of Smithsburg, Md. has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Windsor is a 2005 graduate of Smithsburg High School.

Army Pvt. Gregory C. Harbaugh Jr., son of Gregory L. Harbaugh Sr. of Greencastle, Pa., graduated from One Station Unit Training at the U.S. Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Ga. The training combines basic military training and advanced individual training. Army Pvt. Domonic L. Woodring, son of Ralph E. and Mary E. Woodring of Greencastle, Pa., graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky.
