Police log Teens charged with escaping center MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Two 17-year-old boys who were caught shortly after breaking out of Eastern Juvenile Detention Center Sunday were charged with escape. The Berkeley County Sheriff's Department said the teens were apprehended on foot no more than a mile away after they left through a window between 2:30 and 2:50 a.m. The boys apparently pried back the wire mesh covering on a window and scaled a fence topped with razor wire.

A man suspected of robbing the Susquehanna Bank on Frederick Street in Hagerstown on May 10 has been arrested, according to the Hagerstown Police Department. Brandon Lee Rohrer, 23, of 20422 Mill Point Road in Boonsboro, faces charges of robbery, second-degree assault and theft from $1,000 to under $10,000. According to a report of the robbery in The Herald-Mail, the robber made off with an undisclosed amount of money May 10 after he handed a note to a teller demanding money. No weapons were displayed at the time of the robbery, according to police.

Chambersburg police were investigating an armed robbery reported Thursday at 3 p.m. at F&M Trust at 841 Wayne Ave. Bank employees said a white man entered the bank and asked about services before pulling out a handgun and presenting a note demanding cash, according to a police department news release. "The suspect fled from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last observed running north at the rear of the bank," the news release stated. Witnesses said the man had scruffy facial hair and was wearing a white baseball cap and a plaid shirt, police said.

HANCOCK - The man who robbed the Home Federal Savings Bank outside Hancock on Friday night was wearing a hooded white-face skeleton mask, according to Maryland State Police. The suspect, dressed all in black and donning the mask, walked into the bank at 6:56 p.m., approached a teller and ordered her to put money into a cloth bag he had brought with him, according to Trooper 1st Class M.S. Potter. After she complied, the robber ordered two other tellers to put money from their drawers into the bag, Potter said.

By MARLO BARNHART Staff Writer A suspect in the Feb. 7 robbery of the Hagerstown Trust Co. bank in Boonsboro was apprehended late Saturday during a drug bust at a Frederick, Md., motel. Aaron Douglas Knill, 19, of Hollow Road, Middletown, Md., was expected to appear soon before a U.S. magistrate in Baltimore on four bank robbery charges, including the one in Boonsboro, Maryland State Police said. Frederick City Police went to the Comfort Inn on Prospect Boulevard at 11:30 Saturday night after receiving reports of drug use in a room.

WASHINGTON COUNTY -- After a bank south of Hagerstown was robbed Friday, police were hunting for a gray sport-utility vehicle. The SUV that Washington County Sheriff Douglas W. Mullendore stopped turned out to be the right one, police said. Two men were in the vehicle -- one who allegedly stole money and one who allegedly drove them away from the scene, Maryland State Police Trooper 1st Class Scott Bare said. The men were identified as Juan Jamal Johnson, 37, of 236 Rubens Circle, Martinsburg, W.Va.
