Word of Truth Outreach Ministries, each Sunday this summer - this week at Hagerstown City Park bandshell from 1 to 3 p.m. Books are distributed along with help with medications, housing, school supplies, food, etc. A Cry in the Wilderness Ministries, 13194 Monterey Lane at Tracey's Corner, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., a karaoke night is tonight at 6. Handicapped-accessible paths may be ready by this summer By STACEY DANZUSO / Staff Writer, Chambersburg Handicapped-accessible paths could be in place at Chambersburg Memorial Park as early as this summer, borough officials said. The Chambersburg Borough Council agreed at the council's meeting last week to hire Dennis E. Black Engineering Inc. to plan the paths. The council set aside $48,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds for the project two years ago, said Herb Dolaway, recreation supervisor.

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - The Greencastle Amateur Players will present the premiere of "The Snow Queen" this weekend in the Jerome R. King Playground bandshell. Show times are tonight at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Written by Mecersburg, Pa., resident June McIntosh and based on a story by Hans Christian Anderson, "The Snow Queen" is the story of childhoods friends Kai and Gerda. After an evil goblin's mischief causes Kai to run away with a mysterious stranger, Gerda sets off on a quest to bring him home, meeting many strange characters along the way. Directed by Ellen Burke and Anna Treichler, "The Snow Queen" features Rachel Travis and David Hill as Gerda and Kai, and Laura Martin as the title character.

For more than 30 years, local residents have been able to enjoy a tradition of live gospel music set in the background of the summer season. Every year, Jenny Wilt said she and her husband, Mike, contact the Washington County Arts Council and the city of Hagerstown's Parks and Recreation Department to get the ball rolling for the Gospel in the Park concert series at the Peter Buys Band Shell at City Park. The Wilts fill out a contract for the upcoming year, then the couple starts lining up the entertainment.
