Discovery Station exhibit The “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” exhibit includes local and national baseball artifacts. Leo Burke, a 1952 Hagerstown High School graduate who played for Chicago and Baltimore, will attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony along with two members of the Hagerstown Suns. Today, reception at 10 a.m. Discovery Station, 101 W. Washington St., Hagerstown. Free admission for the ribbon cutting. Call 301-790-0076. Saturday Plus Bill Alt and Jamie Kenton will present “Robotics/Lego” as part of Discovery Station at Hagerstown's Saturday Plus program.

Dana Getka said she got a little nervous before playing a clarinet solo during the all-county band show Saturday night at North Hagerstown High School. As second chair in the All Washington County High School Concert Band, the 14-year-old Boonsboro High School freshman said she never really played a lot of solos. But when the first chair got knocked out earlier this week with a wrist injury, Getka said she was bumped into the spotlight. “It's my first solo in front of an audience,” Getka said.

The Boonsboro High School Band will present a holiday concert tonight in the auditorium at the school at 7 p.m. The event will include seasonal music and light refreshments after the show.  Admission is by donation to the Band Boosters. 'Miracle at the Manger' Mount Nebo Christian Preschool will present  “Miracle at the Manger,” a musical play performed by students ages 2 to 13.    The play will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Boonsboro High School auditorium.
