An infant boy was found dead by his mother Saturday at a home in Ayr Township, Pa., Pennsylvania State Police said. The 52-day-old child was found unresponsive in his bassinet in an apartment in the 7000 block of Cito Road, according to a state police news release. Troopers said Fulton County Coroner Berley Souders pronounced the child dead at 1:32 p.m. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, according to the release.

Attempted burglary reported in Ayr Township Pennsylvania State Police said they responded to an attempted burglary Monday at a home on Woodside Drive in Ayr Township. The incident was believed to have happened from 1 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. at a home at 321 Woodside Drive, according to a state police news release. Troopers said the burglars tried to break into the house through a locked bedroom window. No other signs of entry were observed, according to the release.

A McConnellsburg man has been charged with assaulting a 1-year-old girl in Ayr Township, Pennsylvania State Police said. Mitchell Vincent Knipp, 19, of McConnellsburg, was charged with simple assault and harassment, according to a state police news release. Troopers said the alleged incident occurred Nov. 6 between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., when Knipp allegedly struck the girl in the face in the 18200 block of Great Cove Road. The child lives in Big Cove Tannery, Pa., the release said.

Money, birth certificates, a gold watch and other personal documents were stolen from a Buchanan Trail home in Ayr Township, Fulton County, on Tuesday, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release. Police said a tall, white man with short gray hair and glasses arrived at the home in a minivan around 10 or 11 a.m. He told the victim’s elderly, disabled brother he was there to “take measurements.” The brother assisted the man in measuring rooms of the home, police said.

A Poolesville, Md., man was flown to the hospital after he crashed his motorcycle Sunday morning on U.S. 30 in Ayr Township, Pa., Pennsylvania State Police said. Daniel L. Galloway, 59, was taken to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, according to a news release from Pennsylvania State Police. A hospital spokeswoman said Monday that Galloway was not listed as a patient. Troopers said Galloway was riding a 1999 Yamaha west on U.S. 30 at about 11 a.m. Sunday when the motorcycle left the roadway and slid in some loose gravel.

Pa. state police investigate robbery of storage unit Pennsylvania State Police were searching for two men who robbed a storage unit Monday night in Ayr Township, Pa. The incident happened at 7:05 p.m., when a witness said he saw two men break in to a storage unit at Great Cove Storage on Pa. 522, according to a state police news release. The men stole a 12-inch mitre saw and a Black & Decker table saw before they fled in a silver Pontiac sedan with Maryland plates. Troopers said both robbers were white.

Police seek information on Purdy Creek Store robbery SCOTLAND, Pa. - Franklin County (Pa.) Crime Solvers are seeking information about a robbery from a store Tuesday at Chambersburg Mall. Pennsylvania State Police said one person requested assistance from an employee at Purdy Creek Store at about 3:45 p.m., while two other suspects removed cash from the cash register. “Suspect one physically stopped the employee from going towards the cash register,” police wrote in a news release.

A Fulton County woman is accused of using eyedrops to make a man ill so he would “pay more attention to her,” Pennsylvania State Police in Fulton County said. Vickie Jo Mills, 33, of 18250 Great Cove Road in Ayr Township, Pa., was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, police said. Mills was arraigned Friday before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Mellott and taken to Franklin County (Pa.) Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond. Mills is accused of putting eyedrops in the drinking water of Thurman Edgar Nesbitt III, 45, address not given, since June 2009, police said.
