Marvin Edward Hollinger, 82, of Maugansville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born Aug. 6, 1929, in Cearfoss, Md., he was the son of the late Martin and Daisy (Myers) Hollinger. Marvin was a member of Maugansville Bible Brethren Church. He had worked as a custodian at Harvest Baptist Church in Hagerstown. Surviving him are his loving wife, Arbutus M. Hollinger; a daughter, Nancy A. Perrow and husband, Robert "Bo" of Cearfoss; a son, Donald C. Hollinger and wife, Susan, of Greencastle, Pa.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

Wanda Rebecca Lucas, 64, of Fox Tower Road in Foxville, Md., passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at her home. Born Dec. 13, 1948, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Leslie Leroy and Jessie Arbutus (Myers) Tobery. She was a graduate of Middletown High School. She was employed by the Maryland Unemployment Office. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Church of God in Smithsburg, Md. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Paul E. "Pete" Lucas Sr., whom she married Dec. 16, 1966; one son, Paul E. Lucas Jr. of Foxville; grandchildren, Jennifer Ashley Lucas, Paul E. Lucas III and Rebecca Elizabeth Lucas; brothers, Leslie Tobery, Charles Tobery and Mark Tobery; and several nieces and nephews.

JUNE 6, 1923-JAN. 13, 2011 Juanita Lucille Netz, 87, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Hagerstown. Born on June 6, 1923 in Keedysville, Md., she was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Cecelia Thomas; her husband, William Elwood Netz; her six children, Wanda Lou, Arbutus, Leon, Darvin, Gardenia and Jerry, and her brother, Henry Powell. She had been an employee with Victor Hosiery in Hagerstown for 12 years and at the Hanover Shoe Factory in Middletown for 26 years.

Linda Kay Wilhide, 69, of 2809 Harpers Ferry Road, Sharpsburg, Md., passed away courageously Sunday, July 17, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, Md., with her husband, family and very close friends by her side. She was born July 18, 1941, in Washington County, Md., to the late Oscar Leo and Daisy Arbutus Taylor Otzelberger. She was a 1959 graduate of Boonsboro High School and attended Hagerstown Junior College. She was a homemaker and previously was employed with the Washington County Board of Education as a secretary at Boonsboro Middle School.

Dorothy F. Shipe, 93, of Shepherdstown, W.Va., passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012, at her home. Born Jan. 9, 1919, in Jefferson County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert Nathaniel Carpenter and Viola (Turner) Carpenter. She was a member of Christ Reformed Church. Mrs. Shipe loved her church, family, town and her cats. She is survived by one daughter, Arbutus C. Curvey and husband, the Rev. Paul H. Curvey, of Limerick, Pa.; granddaughters, Kimberly Palmer and husband, Eugene, of Clear Spring, Md., and Stephanie Seward and husband, Jeffrey, of Smithsburg, Md.; four great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Palmer, Benjamin Palmer, Lauren Seward and Emily Seward; great-great-granddaughter, Sophie Grace Palmer; and one brother, Elliott Carpenter of Bunker Hill, W.Va.

JULY 20, 1930-MAY 18, 2010 Jo Ann King, 79, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at her home. Born Sunday, July 20, 1930, in Gaffney, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Dufay Blackwell and the late Arbutus Parris Blackwell. Her husband of 56 years, Charles George King Sr., preceded her in death in 2009. She graduated from Eastern High School in Baltimore, Md., in 1950. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church, where she was a charter member, chairman of the trustees and the greeters.

Lamont Bradley "Monty" Mumma, 66, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Martinsburg Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Born Aug. 24, 1946, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Margie Arbutus (Jenkins) Mumma and the late Hubert Gher Mumma. Monty was a 1965 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1965 to 1968, where he served two tours in Vietnam; first in the 1st Air Calvary Brigade and then in the 82nd Airborne Division.
