Accident

One person was injured in a wreck on South Main Street in Boonsboro around 12:25 p.m. Thursday, Officer Shawn Faith of the Boonsboro Police Department said. The accident happened when a pick-up truck collided with the back of a car just south of Potomac and Saint Paul streets. The driver of the car was taken to Meritus Medical Center in an ambulance from Boonsboro Emergency Medical Services. The southbound lane of South Main Street was briefly closed due to the wreck, but it reopened around 12:45.

A Martinsburg woman died Saturday after the Chevy Cavalier she was driving collided with a tractor-trailer on southbound Interstate 81, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department. Kimberly Bail, 53, of 100 Talbott Ave., was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a police news release. The accident on southbound I-81 near the 15.6-mile marker was reported at 9:13 a.m. Saturday, according to Berkeley County Emergency Services. A tractor-trailer was driving south on I-81 when a blue Chevy Cavalier tried to merge onto I-81 south at the 16-mile marker, police said.

A 22-year-old woman was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., Monday afternoon after the vehicle she was driving crashed into a large tree along Grade Road in Falling Waters, W.Va., police said. The woman's name was not released by the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department Tuesday, and her medical condition was not available. An infant riding in the vehicle was found unharmed in a rear seat and was released to relatives after being taken to City Hospital in Martinsburg, according to a news release from the sheriff's department.

The woman who was killed Thursday night in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 in Berkeley County was identified as Brandy Barraza-Flores, 29, of Greencastle, Pa., the Berkeley County's Sheriff's Office said Saturday. Barraza-Flores was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred Thursday at about 9:35 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 near the Tabler Station Road exit, police had said. The vehicle was northbound when the driver lost control of it, police had said.

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday in a collision with another vehicle at the intersection of East Washington Street and Hollywood Drive, according to the Charles Town Police Department. The name of the motorcycle operator had not been released as of Saturday night and the accident still was under investigation, Sgt. James Knott said. The operator was pronounced dead at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va., Knott said. The accident occurred at 4:38 p.m., a Jefferson County 911 dispatcher said.

Police were responding to an accident on North Cannon Avenue Thursday at 9:30 a.m., a supervisor for Washington County Emergency Services said. However, the scene was clear by 9:45. The accident happened near the CVS at 34 N Cannon Ave.

An accident was reported on northbound Interstate 81 about one mile into Maryland from West Virginia, a supervisor for Washington County Emergency Services said. Police responded to the accident at 8:27 a.m. Tuesday. The scene was cleared by 9 a.m.
