September 10, 2013

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Tips received from the public helped authorities find a man Monday who was wanted for violation of his bond conditions, the U.S. Marshals Service announced Tuesday.

Brian Nickens was found in a car in the Long John Silver’s restaurant parking lot in Charles Town, W.Va., and taken into custody by members of the Mountain State Fugitive Task Force,  Deputy U.S. Marshal Michael Ulrich said in a news release.

Nickens was wanted on bond conditions stemming from a case where he was charged with being a drug user in possession of a firearm, according to the release.

After Nickens was added to the Eastern Panhandle’s most wanted website and released in the media as the fugitive of the month for September, calls from the public began to “pour” in with tips on possible locations and information about Nickens, the release said.
