Cavetown church to host vesper service

Christ Reformed United Church of Christ, 22514 Cavetown Church Road, invites the public to a vesper service on Sunday beginning at 4 p.m. behind the parsonage.

The service will include hymn-singing, listening to music, enjoying a campfire, making s’mores and toasting  marshmallows. Bring a lawn chair, bring neighbors, friends and relatives. The congregation wants to introduce the public to the church and the warmth of its fellowship.

‘Variety’ music series slated at Pen Mar Park

Car show scheduled Sunday at Red Run Park

Red Run Park in Rouzerville, Pa., will feature a car show on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Annual event to benefit Alzheimer’s Disease

Cider Press, 47 Crystal Falls Drive, will hold its third annual Alzheimer’s Benefit, Pig Roast and Music Festival on Saturday, beginning at 2 p.m.

Entertainment includes Jesse Bell and Cider Mill Country Express; Gloryland Ramblers with Dory Stanley; Kenny Johnson, the one-arm guitarist and member of the West Virginia Country Hall of Fame; and a mystery guest.

A $12 donation covers meal, drink, dessert and music. Tickets are available at JB Trains and Village Emporium.

Wednesday, nutrition education, health benefits; Friday, cards or bean bag toss at 10 a.m.; Monday, chair exercise with Kathleen at 10 a.m.
