Paving, road repairs to cause delays on U.S. 340

RIPPON, W.Va. – Paving and road repairs will cause delays on U.S. 340 in Jefferson County beginning around Sept. 16, according to the West Virginia Division of Highways.

The highway will be temporarily reduced to one lane from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. for a resurfacing job that includes base failure repair and paved shoulders. The project will begin at the Virginia state line and will continue north for about two miles, ending about 50 feet north of Myerstown Road, according to a news release.

Jefferson Asphalt will be performing the work at a cost of about $750,675. The project is expected to be finished within two weeks, the release said.
