The Community Foundation of Washington County has announced the establishment of a scholarship fund in memory of Michaela Grove, who passed away on July 22 at the age of 16.

Michaela was a student at Boonsboro High School, where she was on the distinguished honor roll, played on the girls varsity soccer team, and was a member of both the indoor and outdoor track state championship teams.

The Michaela Grove Scholarship Fund will be awarded to a graduating senior at Boonsboro High School, according to a foundation news release.

Donations can be made in Michaela’s memory to the foundation by calling 301-745-5210.

The Community Foundation of Washington County MD Inc., which currently has over $26 million in assets, has distributed nearly $11 million in grants to area nonprofit organizations since 1997. Donors can support any of its 205 funds at any time, or create a charitable fund of their own.
