Mrs. Alyce S. (Steck) McCoy, 82, a resident of Menno Haven Retirement Community, Chambersburg, Pa., and formerly of Waynesboro, Pa., died at 4:14 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at the nursing home. 

Born Nov. 19, 1930, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Howard L. and Henrietta E. (Elliott) Steck.

She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. 

Mrs. McCoy was a graduate of Waynesboro High School. 

She worked for The Record Herald as the society editor. She later owned her own catering business with Nancy Levick and a vanity retail store in Waynesboro. 

Mrs. McCoy was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, and enjoyed cooking and traveling. 

She is survived by two sons, Thomas Jones of West Chester, Pa., and Michael Jones; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her nephew, Steve Graham of Sabillasville, Md.; and a number of additional nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. Kenneth McCoy; and two sisters, Virginia S. Graham and Kay S. Whetstone.  

A memorial service will be Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, 105 E. Main St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Christine Callaway officiating. Burial will be private in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro, 105 E. Main St., Waynesboro, PA 17268; or to the Waynesboro Industrial Museum, P.O. Box 133, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
