Six Pennsylvania students receive Chambersburg Hospital scholarships

Students planning to pursue careers in the health care field

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Six area students who plan to pursue or are pursuing health care careers were honored recently as the recipients of the Medical Staff Scholarship Award at a Chambersburg Hospital medical staff meeting.

• Brianna Dade of Waynesboro, Pa., is a member of the Waynesboro Area Senior High School class of 2013. She plans to attend Penn State University to pursue a degree in medicine, specializing in pediatrics.

• Shannon Leary of Chambersburg is a member of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School Class of 2013. She plans to attend Messiah College to pursue a degree in nursing.

• Angela Roach of Shippensburg, Pa., attended Franklin County Career and Technology Center’s Practical Nursing Program and graduated in August. Her goal is to become a registered nurse.

• Andrew Smith of Big Cove Tannery, Pa., is a member of the McConnellsburg High School Class of 2013. He plans to attend Purdue University to pursue a pharmacy doctorate and a Doctor of Philosophy in pharmaceuticals.

• Lakshmi Srinivas of Chambersburg is a member of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School Class of 2013. She plans to pursue a degree in biology and pre-medicine.

Her goal is to earn her medical degree, specializing in pediatrics.

• Cynthia Weidman of Chambersburg plans to attend Towson University to pursue a degree in nursing.
