Sandy Spring Bancorp Inc.

OLNEY, Md. — Sandy Spring Bancorp Inc. announced Aug. 29 that the company’s board of directors approved the repurchase of up to 5 percent of the company’s outstanding common stock, or approximately 1.26 million shares. 

The current repurchase authorization replaces the company’s existing repurchase program, which expired Aug. 31. Repurchases, which will be conducted through open-market purchases or privately negotiated transactions, will be made from time to time, depending on market conditions and other factors.
