While in San Francisco, the Sweeneys toured the city, Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown and Alcatraz. They also saw a Giants-Mets game at AT&T Park. The family spent a week in a rented home from which they toured wineries in Napa and Sonoma valleys.

Joining the Sweeneys were their sons, Patrick and his wife, Susan, James and his wife, Karina; and grandsons, Taylor and Andrew and Karina’s father, Ron Braszo.

Bob and Sara were married Aug. 3, 1963, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Boonsboro by Pastor Richard F. Batman.

After the ceremony, they left for Niagara Falls, Canada, and the New England states.

Bob is retired from IBM Federal Systems Division. Sara taught English at North Hagerstown HighSchool, retiring after their first son was born.

The Sweeneys have traveled in the United States and Europe, taking many memorable European tours. In the early years, they drove. More recently they’ve traveled on group tours. They especially enjoy river boating and visiting the Christmas markets along the major rivers of Western and Eastern Europe.
