Frances Linton Wynkoop, 99, a longtime resident of Hagerstown, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.
She was the wife of the late Ross Wynkoop, who was a childhood friend and preceded her in death in 1971.
Born Nov. 8, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Florence Brown Linton.
She was employed by Rosewood Care Center in Owings Mills, Md., where she began as a patient early in her life. She later offered medical advice, along with Ms. Queen, on WJEJ's "Phone Party."
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hagerstown.
She is survived by her only child, son, Arthur Wynkoop and wife, Meg Brethorst, of St. Louis, Mo.; and granddaughter, Marjorie Wynkoop-Sullivan and husband, Dwight, of Chicago, Ill.
Florence will also be remembered by the Measle and Souders families of Boonsboro.
A funeral service will be Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. Her pastor, the Rev. Thom C. Smith, will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
