Clyde Russell Burkett, 75, of National Pike in Hagerstown, Md., passed away Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at his home.

Born May 11, 1938, in Romney, W.Va., he was the son of the late Brady Russell Burkett and Gladys Mulleday Dobscha.

Clyde was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was employed as a long-distance truck driver and a local dump-truck driver.

He was a member of Improved Order of Red Men Tribe 84 in Williamsport.

Clyde is survived by his wife of 33 years, Wanda L. Burkett of Hagerstown; two daughters, Cathy Tarr and Susan Craig, both of Washington, Pa.; two sons, Brady R. Burkett and wife, Carol, of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Clyde T. Burkett of Washington; two stepdaughters, Susan Walker and Gina Edelon, both of Hagerstown; one brother, Guy Burkett and wife, Carolyn, of Stephenson, Va.; nine grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; one great-niece; and one great-nephew.

Graveside services will be Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, with honors by AMVETS Post 10 and the Marine Corps League of Hagerstown. Pastor Kevin Smoot will officiate.

There will be no viewing or visitation.
