Mary Jane Elliott Davis, 95, of Woodland Way in Hagerstown, Md., died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Maryland.

Born Jan. 16, 1918, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Bruce Alexander Elliott and Roberta Virginia Bittinger Elliott.

She graduated from Stevens Girls High School in Lancaster, Pa., and Hagerstown High School in 1936.

After both brothers had enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II, Jane enlisted in the Women's Army Corps in 1943.

She was married in 1945 to Albert E. Davis Sr. They were married for 62 years. He preceded her in death in 2007.

She was a homemaker and past worthy matron of Queen Esther Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 3 in Hagerstown, and did volunteer work for the American Red Cross. She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 42 in Hagerstown.

In addition to her late husband, Al Sr., she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert B. Elliott, and Charles Frederic Elliott, who was killed in action in 1943; and a grandchild, Richard Eudaily.

She is survived by one daughter, Janey Davis Eudaily and husband, Daniel, of Dillon, Mont.; one son, Albert E. Davis Jr. and wife, Melissa, of Falling Waters, W.Va.; and two granddaughters, Meredith Hinman and Hanna Grace Davis.

Services will be Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. W. Gregory Martin will officiate. Private burial will follow the service in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
