Kenneth Arlington McCauley, 47, of Greencastle, Pa., died unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, at his home.
Born Monday, July 25, 1966, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of Patricia (Hebb) McCauley and the late Ralph “Lee” McCauley.
Kenny graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1984. He enlisted into the Army Reserves and served his country for 21 years. He served in the Iraqi Freedom and was a recipient of a Bronze Star.
Kenny's greatest joy was spending time with his boys, they were his pride and joy. He was known as “Papa Bear” and enjoyed coaching girls softball, umpiring Halfway Little League Baseball, coaching Pony League and was a referee for elementary league basketball and flag football. He was an avid APA Pool player and an active member of the American Legion Post 373, Greencastle.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Elizabeth McCauley; sons, Devon and girlfriend, Amber, Brandon and girlfriend, Josie, and Ryan, all at home; brothers, Steven and wife, Beverly, Michael and wife, Tracy; and twin sister, Kathy. He is also survived by his grandson, Carter; numerous nieces and nephews and his St. Bernards, Stella and Millie.
He was preceded in death by his father and godmother, Doris Hoffman.
Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Gregg Meserole officiating.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Interment will be at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
