Ivan Hensley, 75, of Frederick, Md., formerly of Knoxville, Md., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.

Born Oct. 10, 1937, in Isom, Ky., he was the only son of Flossie Hensley.

Ivan was a mechanic by trade and a fisherman at heart. He was a loving husband, companion, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Karen S. Hensley.

Mr. Hensley is survived by his daughter, Lisa Marie Moore and husband, DJ, of Jefferson, Md.; son, John Hensley and wife, Kimberly, of Martinsburg, W.Va.; grandchildren, Jessica Droneburg, Alex Moore, Danielle Moore, Tara Clark, Mia Fauble, Jessica Hensley and DJ Droneburg; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor, Katelyn, Ryan and Matt.

He will be remembered by his loving companion, Karen Kerens of Frederick, and her family; as well as his lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Jeanne McCarthy, and many loving friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4231 Catholic Church Road, Knoxville. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. The Rev. George Limmer will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick.
