Waynesboro-area residents asked to contribute to 9/11 time capsule

September 01, 2013

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Additional input is being gathered for a time capsule expected to be encased when a Sept. 11, 2001, memorial is dedicated in Washington Township, Pa.

The memorial at Red Run Park will be dedicated the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 11. The time capsule will be embedded in the memorial’s floor after the dedication so that media coverage of the ceremony can be included.

A website, www.tribute911.org, is set up to collect stories about how Waynesboro-area residents were affected by the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Stories about volunteerism in the aftermath are welcomed.

The stories will be included in the time capsule.
