Shippensburg man charged with DUI

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — A Shippensburg, Pa., man was charged with driving under the influence and drug-related counts Aug. 25 after a traffic stop in Greene Township, Pa., Pennsylvania State Police said.

Zachary Tyler Porter, 24, was pulled over for speeding by troopers Aug. 25 at 2:17 p.m. at the intersection of Molly Pitcher Highway and Wagner Road in Greene Township, according to a state police news release.

Porter showed signs of impairment and was charged with DUI, troopers said.

Troopers obtained a search warrant for Porter’s vehicle. During the search, they found 165 grams of marijuana and an electric scale, according to the release.

Porter then was charged with drug possession, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and multiple traffic violations, troopers said.



Pa. Police investigate thefts from motor vehicles

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police troopers are investigating numerous thefts from motor vehicles in Southampton Township, Pa., according to a state police news release.

The incidents occurred on Clifton and Roxbury roads; Crescent, Herwen, Hurley, Morgan and Municipal drives; and Maple Hill Avenue, troopers said.

At least three males made forcible and nonforcible entry into locked and unlocked vehicles, troopers said. They stole purses, wallets and other property, troopers said.

The males were confronted by a resident and fled the scene, troopers said. Several items were discarded by the males as they fled and were recovered by troopers, according to the release.

The males are described as white/non-Hispanic males in their late teens to early 20s. They were wearing all black, troopers said.
