Mary Louise (Fuss) Rummel, 70, of 723 Naples Drive in Hagerstown, Md., passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Julia Manor Health Care Center after a three-year battle with breast cancer.

Born Monday, June 14, 1943, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Bernard Fuss and Mildred Louise (Wilhide) Fuss.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Rummel, who was diagnosed with cancer just one day before her own cancer was diagnosed, but still lovingly looked after her husband until his passing.

She was employed as a pharmacy technician by Magnolia Square and before that at Eakles Drug Store.

She was a member of Christ's Reformed Church.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and church family, and loved her card-club gatherings.

More than anything, she loved her three grandchildren dearly and enjoyed all of their sporting events.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann O'Connor and husband, Brad, and their three children, Patrick, Andrew and Samantha, all of Hagerstown; sisters, Barbara Cianelli and husband, Don, of Maugansville, Md., and Joyce Flynn and husband, Mike, of Hagerstown; brother, Bob Fuss and wife, Betty, of Brandon, Miss.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at 7 p.m. at Christ's Reformed Church, 130 W. Franklin St., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Gregg Meserole officiating. Private interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to John R. Marsh Cancer Center, 11110 Medical Campus Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742; or Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
