U.S. Small Business Administration will offer online seminars

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering several online seminars in September.

• The SBA will offer free Web-enabled, instructor-led government contracting training sessions.

Topics include financial management for government contractors, proposal preparation, and federal contracting and government contract management.

The seminars are being offered to eligible individuals or small businesses nationwide as part of SBA’s efforts to provide relevant training to the small-business community. Instructors are from Stover & Associates Inc.

Online seminars include:

Financial management for government contractors
— Session 1: Sept. 4, 1 to 4 p.m.
— Session 2: Sept. 5, 1 to 4 p.m.

Proposal preparation
— Session 1: Sept. 16, 1 to 4 p.m.
— Session 2: Sept. 17, 1 to 4 p.m.

Federal contracting and government contract management
— Session 1: Sept. 18, 1 to 4 p.m.
— Session 2: Sept. 19, 1 to 4 p.m.

• The SBA and Small Business Majority will team up for a free webinar series through which small-business owners can learn the basics of the Affordable Care Act, and what it means for their business and employees.

Webinar content generally will be the same each week, and a question-and-answer period will follow.

The webinars focus on what the Affordable Care Act means for small businesses. They pay attention to federal and state provisions to help local small-business owners understand how the law affects them.

Topics include small business tax credits, available to businesses and tax-exempt nonprofits; marketplace updates; shared responsibility; cost containment; and tools and resources available for small businesses interested in learning more about the law.

Webinars are scheduled as follows:
— Thursday, Sept. 5, 2 p.m.
— Thursday, Sept. 12, 2 p.m.
— Thursday, Sept. 19, 2 p.m.
— Thursday, Sept. 26, 2 p.m.
