‘Sit Fit’ classes
The Washington County Recreation Department will offer senior fitness classes this fall at Washington County Agricultural Education Center on Sharpsburg Pike.
“Sit Fit” classes are designed for those who want to exercise, but need the comfort of a chair for stability and balance. The classes help reduce pain and stiffness by improving joint flexibility. Participants can improve strength and sleep patterns by increasing circulation and stamina.
Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at the multipurpose building from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., starting Tuesday, Sept. 10 and ending Dec. 5.
The classes cost $45 for Washington County residents, $55 for nonresidents and $36 for those 55 and older.

Martz offers Zumba classes
Washington County Recreation Department instructor Liz Martz will offer Zumba classes this fall at Rockland Woods Elementary School.
Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15to 6 p.m., from Saturday, Sept. 7 through Dec. 7.
The classes cost $40 for county residents; $50 for nonresidents and $32 for those 55 and older.
Benevola to hold Body and Soul
Benevola United Methodist Church will hold Body & Soul co-ed workouts beginning Wednesday, Sept. 4.
Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. at the Benevola Church gym.
Participants are encouraged to bring a mat and light weights.
New students are invited to the Sept. 4 class 15 minutes early for extra instruction. Classes will cost $3.75 per class. The first class is free.
The church is on Alternate U.S. 40, three miles north of Boonsboro.
Class of 1977 to hold dinner
The Boonsboro High Class of 1977 will hold an alumni dinner party at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Supreme Buffet Hibachi Grill & Sushi, 545 Dual Highway, Hagerstown.
