Freda M. Vickroy, 85, of McConnellsburg, Pa., passed from death to eternal life on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at her residence.

Freda was born in Johnstown, Pa., on Jan. 29, 1928, the daughter of the late Charles and Lula (Sipes) Sipes.

She was the wife of LeRoy Vickroy, whom she married Nov. 18, 1950.

Vickroy has been a member of the Needmore Bible Church since 1979, and was a founder and a faithful volunteer of the Fulton County Community Christian School in Needmore, Pa. After graduating from the Greater Johnstown High School, she worked for the federal government as an administrative assistant with the U.S. Selective Service System.

Although Freda and Lee had no biological children of their own, they were loved by hundreds of children for their unwavering support of schooling, prayer and finances. Freda loved entertaining family and friends in her home, and shared with others all that God blessed her with.

Freda was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Sipes, of Windber, Pa.

Religious service at Needmore Bible Church, Needmore, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, with Pastor Doug Poffenberger officiating.

Interment will be at Siloam United Methodist Cemetery, Harrisonville, Pa.

There will be visitation Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Needmore Bible Church, Needmore. There will also be visitation one hour before the service Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fulton County Community Christian School, 8159 Great Cove Road, Needmore, PA 17238.
