Nick Brandenburg of Boy Scout Troop 10 of Hagerstown recently completed his Eagle Scout project.

As a result, the children of Christ Lutheran Church will have a fenced playground.

Spread Your Wings Learning Center, a preschool program at the church, will also use the playground.

Nick researched fence construction, obtained permits and approvals, collected funds and planned and built the fence with the help of members of Troop 10, students from North Hagerstown High School and his family.

Nick is a member of the Class of 2013 of North High, graduating summa cum laude. He is a member of the National Honor Society and participated in many clubs and activities at North.

He is majoring in chemistry at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa.

He has been active in Troop 10 since 2006, and has held many leadership positions within the troop. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brandenburg of Hagerstown.
