Eleanor Lorraine Hoover, 87, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at her home.

Born Feb. 6, 1926, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Riley Hoover Sr. and Margie Irene Shreiner Hoover.

She was a member of Salem Reformed Church and formerly a member of Bethel United Methodist Church for 50 years.

She was employed by the Department of the Army at Fort Ritchie as a supervisor of accounting, retiring in 1986.

She is survived by a brother, Ralph C. Hoover of Hagerstown; a sister, Nancy J. Longanecker of Canyon City, Colo.; 18 nieces and nephews; and numerous great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty V. Hoover Mellott; a brother, Edgar R. Hoover Jr.; and a nephew, Ralph Hoover Jr.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Steve Wagoner will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
