Daniel Jacob Shank, 85, of Williamsport, Md., passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at his home.

He was born Sept. 12, 1927, in Hagerstown, Md., to the late Daniel C. and Daisy Mae Manning Shank.

He attended Winter Street School.

He was a truck driver with Charlton Bros. of Hagerstown, until retiring in 1984, and previously was employed at Cushwa Brick in Williamsport.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.

He was a member of New Life Christian Ministries in Hagerstown.

He was a lifetime member of VFW of Mercersburg, Pa., The Improved Order of Red Men Tribe 84 of Williamsport and Funkstown Rod & Gun Club. He also was a member of Potomac Post 202 American Legion of Williamsport and Teamsters Local 992 of Hagerstown.

He enjoyed farming, woodworking and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Pearl Iva Sharer Shank, whom he married March 27, 1947, of Williamsport; daughter, Daisy P. Green and her husband, Michael L., of Falling Waters, W.Va.; sons, Bobbie “Jake” Shank and his wife, Debbra, of Pinesburg, Md., and Ronald L. Shank and his wife, Teresa, of Williamsport; sister, Vivian Dunhough of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Daniel E. Shank; three sisters; and two brothers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The funeral home will be open Tuesday after 9 a.m. for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey Hawbaker officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport. Military graveside services will be provided by AMVETS Post 10 and Marine Corps League of Hagerstown.
