Dance classes offered this fall

The Washington County Recreation Department will offer dance programs in the fall.

Adult tap dance for beginners — Hagerstown Community College ARCC Fitness Center; Saturdays, Sept. 7 to Oct. 26, 11 a.m. to noon; $35 for county residents; $40 for nonresidents.

Adult tap dance — Pang-born Elementary School community gym; Aug. 28 to Dec. 11, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.; $35 for county residents; $40 for nonresidents.

Ballroom dancing for advanced beginners — Hagerstown Community College ARCC Fitness Center; Saturdays, Sept. 7 to Oct. 26, 9 to 10 a.m.; $45 for county couples; $55 for nonresidents.

Classes are taught by Lisa Gillespie.

Comedy show planned Sept. 7

The Make Me Laugh Comedy Tour will hold an NFL Kickoff Comedy Show Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Eagles Club, 18 N. Locust St. in Hagerstown.

Comedians are from Comedy Central’s Showtime and Just for Laughs, including T.D. Laughs, and T Ray Sanders.

The show is hosted by Chad Beadle. A DJ will be on hand for the party afterward.

The show is sponsored by Meadow Agency, Tattoos by Nate, Weller’s Collision Center, Honey Bee Auto Sales, Picket News and Einstein Bail Bonds.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show is at 9 p.m.

Tickets cost $12 in advance and $15 at the door. A VIP package will be available for $100 for two, which includes admission to the show, food and two photos with comedians at your table.

Wear your team jersey and get in for the advanced ticket price.

There will be 50/50 cash giveaways and tickets to an NFL game.

Former Washington Redskins player Ron Saul will sign autographs for $10 from 7 to 9 p.m. for a good cause.
