Road construction to take place near HCC entrance

August 25, 2013

As part of the Robinwood Drive Improvements Project, the Washington County Division of Public Works Engineering and Construction Department announced the temporary construction of a dual-lane exit road this week.

The work will take place in the existing median at the Hagerstown Community College entrance between Robinwood Drive and Scholar Drive, the county said in a news release.

The temporary road will allow dual-lane inbound and outbound access to and from HCC while roadway improvements are made on both sides of Academic Boulevard, the release said.

Traffic will be maintained along Academic Boulevard for inbound and outbound HCC traffic, according to the release.

Motorists are asked by the county to use caution, since construction vehicles will be accessing and departing the work zone during the construction.

Weather permitting, construction of the temporary road is anticipated to be completed by the first week of September.
