Financial Peace University to be offered locally

August 25, 2013

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, or FPU, will begin Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. at LifeHouse Church, 515 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown.

More than 2 million families have positively changed their financial future through FPU.

Updated in summer 2012, the now nine-week course provides families and individuals with practical tools to gain control of their finances and set themselves up for long-term financial success. The course meets once a week, during which lessons are taught by Ramsey on a DVD followed by small-group discussions.

On average, families who complete FPU pay off $5,300 and save $2,700 in the first 90 days.

Following the class, nearly 94 percent of those families budget regularly.

Ramsey knows firsthand the pain that financial stress can cause. After creating a net worth of more than $1 million dollars by age 26, he quickly lost it all.

Since then, Ramsey has helped families and individuals across the country learn how to get control of their finances and avoid debt so they don’t have to experience the same pain he did.
