Monkey Joe's in Hagerstown to collect donations to support heart association

August 23, 2013

Monkey Joe’s has announced a national relationship with the American Heart Association, the nation’s largest voluntary organization devoted to fighting cardiovascular disease and stroke.

In September, Monkey Joe’s in Hagerstown will collect donations to support the heart association through Active Kids=Healthy Hearts, a campaign created by Monkey Joe’s to promote a more active lifestyle.

Although Monkey Joe’s is known predominately as a family destination, it also is an active location for children, with an average 5-year-old child burning 114 calories for every 30 minutes through jumping and sliding on Monkey Joe’s inflatables.

In addition to collecting donations, Monkey Joe’s locations will calculate the total number of hours jumped in September, with the goal of 12,000 jumping hours nationwide by Sept. 28, which is National Family Health and Fitness Day.
