Tractor-trailer snags lines in Funkstown

August 22, 2013

FUNKSTOWN — A tractor-trailer snagged some telephone and electric lines at the intersection of South Westside Avenue and Baltimore Street Thursday afternoon, according to a Washington County 911 supervisor said.

A load on the truck was too high, and another rig with lower clearance was brought to the scene to move the truck’s cargo from the area, the supervisor said.

It appeared that some of the lines were stretched, while others might have been damaged, he said.

No one was hurt, the supervisor said.

Officials with Potomac Edison and Verizon responded to the incident, which was reported at about 1:45 p.m., he said.
