Fun shoot, sporting clays event Sept. 14

The Potomac Valley Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society, in conjunction with the Bethesda Chevy Chase Chapter of the Izaak Walton League, will host the 10th annual fun shoot and sporting clays challenge on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The event will take place at the league’s shooting grounds on Izaak Walton Way, off West Willard Road, in Poolesville, Md., on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The entry fee for the 50-target event is $40, and includes dinner, trophies and prizes.

The event is open to the public. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. Shooting will be  from 1 to 5 p.m.

Dinner, which costs $15 for nonshooters, will be served from 4 to 6 p.m., with awards for high gun, high ladies and high youth (16 years and younger) to follow.
