August 21, 2013

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Berkeley County man was arraigned Wednesday on one felony count of cultivating marijuana in the 800 block of Salem Church Road, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Michael J. Pulse, 34, of Salem Church Road, was arraigned by Magistrate Robert L. Lowe II, the court records said.

The marijuana “grow” was spotted by West Virginia State Police aboard a helicopter July 19 while they were looking for the plants, records said.

Police seized seven marijuana plants that were growing inside a wood-line area, according to a complaint filed by Trooper P.L. North.

Police said the defendant admitted the plants belonged to him, records said.
