Contracts signed for new school administration building

August 20, 2013

County Schools Superintendent Clayton Wilcox told the Washington County Board of Education on Tuesday that he recently signed some contracts related to the new Downsville Pike administration building.

Wilcox said he signed the contracts, prior to board approval, to keep the schedule in place for moving into the new offices, and so the building will be sealed and have climate control before any snow arrives.

Wilcox has said he hopes to have some offices move into the new building around the end of the year.

Trane USA of Gaithersburg, Md., was awarded a contract for two chillers for its low bid of $141,315, according to Wilcox and the school system’s purchasing website at WCPSPurchasing.com.

The Morin Co. of Columbia, Md., was awarded a cooling towers contract for its low bid of $46,645.

Aircon of Cumberland, Md., was awarded the air-handling unit contract for its low bid of $27,000.
