W.Va. man arraigned on felony count of cultivating marijuana

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Gerrardstown, W.Va., man accused of growing marijuana on his property this summer was arraigned Monday on one felony count of cultivating marijuana, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Lemuel Dale Silver, 58, of Doberman Lane, was arraigned by Magistrate Robert L. Lowe II, according to court records.

Marijuana plants were spotted growing on Silver’s property by two West Virginia State Police troopers on July 19 when they were in a helicopter looking for marijuana, according to court records.

Police seized 14 plants from Silver’s property, according to court records.
