Train for Apple Trample 5K

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. —The 34th annual Apple Trample 5K takes place Saturday, Oct. 19.

Race organizers are offering a special training program for all levels and ages of runners/walkers from Monday, Aug. 26, through Monday, Oct. 14. Registration information for the training program and the Apple Trample 5K is at www.appletrample.com.

The training program is free, but registration is required. 

First Aid, CPR training

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. —War Memorial Hospital will offer the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver First Aid with a CPR and AED training course from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, in Education Room A at the hospital, 1 Healthy Way in Berkeley Springs.

Participants will learn general principals of first aid, what to do in a medical emergency, how to handle emergency injuries and environmental injuries as well as learn skills in CPR and how to operate an automated external defibrillator.

The course costs $65. Registration is required. Call 304-258-6525.
