Charles Robert “Bob” Gayman, 68, of Dickinson Avenue, Waynesboro, and formerly of Molly Pitcher Highway South, Greencastle, died at 8:58 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, in his home.

Born Sept. 20, 1944, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Charles C. and Gladys Irene (Burger) Gayman.

He retired in 1999 from Corning Glass of Greencastle, where he had worked in shipping. Bob was a 1962 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim High School and had served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. Bob enjoyed watching stock-car racing.

Surviving family are two sisters, Karen Grosh and husband, Lenny, of West Bend, Wis., and Mary K. Ehrhart and husband, Randy, of Greencastle; three brothers, Fred B. Gayman and wife, Sylvia, of  Waynesboro, Floyd B. Gayman and wife, Barb, of Greencastle and Lynn B. Gayman and wife, Susan, of Greencastle, and a number of nieces and nephews.

It was his request to donate his body for medical research at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. There will be no public services.
 
In his memory, memorial contributions can be made to the Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202; or to Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
