The South Hagerstown High School girls soccer team recently participated in the third annual Krumpe’s Donut Alley Rally 5K run.

The group has completed the race for the past three years as a final celebration to its summer conditioning program.

Before the race, the team gathered in a team-building activity to make T-shirts together, which represented their unity.  The only requirements were creativity and an acknowledgement of the Wounded Warrior Project.

While team building is an integral part of the experience, the South High athletes and their families reflected upon the importance of giving back to the community and contributing to the Wounded Warrior cause.

So while the South High teams gear up for another fall season, they conclude all of their efforts with a contribution to the hard work and commitment given by others for the freedom to enjoy the liberties and enjoyment associated with team sports.

Upon crossing the finish line, with many crossing in pairs, showing support and encouragement for their teammates, a look of satisfaction crossed each of their faces.

With a final cheer of “Rebels on three ... 1-2-3 REBELS!” the girls concluded another Krumpe’s 5K, another summer conditioning season, and prepared for another fall season; all thanks to the Wounded Warriors who made the opportunities possible.

The Krumpe’s Do-Nut Run raised funds for the Wounded Warrior Project.
