2. Fox’s Gap re-enactment
Thunder on the Mountain, a re-enactment of the battle of Fox’s Gap during the 1862 Battle of South Mountain. This year, living historians will re-create the 23rd Ohio’s assault on Confederate artillery. 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18. 3. See the planes
Hagerstown Aviation Museum holds an open house, featuring its Fairchild C-119 “Flying Boxcar,” a 1928 Kreider Reisner biplane and other airplanes. 1 to 4 p.m. rain or shine. Sunday, Aug. 18. The museum is at 14235 Oak Springs Road, near Hagerstown Regional Airport. Call 301-733-8717.

4. Ted talk

5. Navy band
