Dancing with The Arc Stars will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m. at Hager Hall in Hagerstown.

The Arc of Washington County’s Arc Stars include Raychel Harvey-Jones of HMTV6 with professional partner Irv Easterday; Bob Rankin of Minnich Funeral Home with professional partner Brenna Bacon Ranieli; and Dr. David Solberg of Capital Women’s Care with professional partner Alessandra Solberg.

The judges will be Lou Scally of WHAG-TV, Bernadette Wagner of Volunteer Washington County and Heather Guessford of Kaplan University.

Thomas B. Riford, president and chief executive officer of the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, will be the master of ceremonies.

Loosely based on the popular “Dancing with the Stars” TV show, the event features a dance competition between three local celebrity dance couples who have been training for months under instructor Ranelle Flurie, director at Ballet and All That Jazz dance studio.

A panel of judges will critique the dances, though the winners are based on money raised through audience voting.

All funds raised will support the Arc’s mission of providing “Bridges to Opportunities for Individuals with Disabilities.”

Cocktail hour will begin at 6 p.m. and feature a dancing exhibition by students from the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts. Dinner and the dance competition will begin at 7 p.m.

Tickets purchased before Aug. 31 are available for $5 off the $75 ticket price.
