Sobriety checkpoint planned near Martinsburg

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — West Virginia State Police will conduct a sobriety checkpoint along U.S. 11 near the intersection of Evans Run Drive, near Martinsburg on Friday beginning at 9 p.m.

The checkpoint will last until 3 a.m. Saturday, police said in a news release.  The secondary location will be off of U.S. 11 near the intersection of Musselman Drive, near Inwood, W.Va.

The primary purpose of the checkpoint is to educate the motoring public about the effects of driving impaired either by alcohol, drugs, or both.

During the checkpoint, drivers will be checked for any other traffic infractions as well.
