Girl, 3, struck with shoehorn

McConnellsburg man charged

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. — A McConnellsburg man has been charged with striking a 3-year-old girl with a shoehorn over the weekend at a home on West Walnut Street, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Robert E. Thompson, 63, was charged with simple assault and harassment, according to a state police news release.

Troopers said Thompson struck the girl several times with a shoehorn Sunday afternoon at an apartment at 119 W. Walnut St. in McConnellsburg.

The charges were filed through District Court, according to the release.
