Class of 1944 to meet Sept. 28 for 69th reunion

The Hagerstown High Class of 1944 will meet Saturday, Sept. 28, at noon at Nick’s Airport Inn for its 69th reunion.
The reunion committee has mailed invitations.  
Any classmate who has not received an invitation is asked to call Joe Palkovitz at 301-790-2245 and an invitation will be mailed.

Class of 1949 plans 64th reunion
The Hagerstown  High School Class of 1949 will hold its 64th class reunion Thursday, Sept. 19, at noon at Western Sizzlin’ Steakhouse, 17567 York Road in Halfway.
No reservations are needed.

Scrapbook flea market fundraiser set for Saturday
A Cancer Stinks scrapbook flea market fundraiser will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Maugansville Ruritan Club’s community building, 18007 Maugans Ave.
The event will have a variety of scrapbooking, stamping, crafting supplies, tools, products, machines and other items for sale.
The event will include food, drinks and raffles.
Individual tables can be rented through Miracles for Melanie. Tables are limited. An 8-foot table costs $30 to rent. The tables will be rented on a first-come, first-served basis.
Admission is $5 at the door.
All proceeds will go to support Melanie and her fight against pancreatic cancer.

TOPS Chapter 0077
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 0077 in Hagerstown reported a loss of 30 1/2 pounds for the week.
The best TOPS losers were Pat Horning and Charlie House. The best KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) losers were Joan Gilbert, Lu M. and Judy Purdham.
The chapter welcomed a new member, Robin Orr.
Kathy Freese presented the program on “You Are a Winner.”
The weight-loss support group meets Mondays at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave. in Hagerstown.  Weigh-in is from 7 to 9:15 a.m., and the meeting is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
