1. Along for the ride

“Driving Miss Daisy,” story of true friendship between two unlikely people opens this weekend. Shows are Saturdays, Aug. 10 and 17, Sept. 7, 14, ; Fridays, Aug. 16 and 23, Sept. 6, 20; Sundays, Aug. 18 and Sept. 21; Dinner served at 6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 1 p.m. on Sundays, show follows. Scale model display of the Western Maryland Railway, Hagerstown Roundhouse, turntable and surrounding buildings. 4. School days

West End Back to School Block Party will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Washington Square United Methodist Church, 538 Washington Ave., Hagerstown.  School supplies will be handed out to students accompanied by a parent or guardian. 5. Back Creek and bluegrass
