Raymond E. "Ray" Barnhart, 51, of Hagerstown, Md., passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior at his home on Aug. 1, 2013.
Born Jan. 15, 1962, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Eva Bihlear of Hagerstown.
Ray was a 1981 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
He was previously employed by People's Drug Store. Ray served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a volunteer for Community Rescue Service and local fire companies for several years. He was an avid coin collector and a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society.
In addition to his mother, Ray is survived by a brother, Ed Bihlear of Silver Spring, Md.; and a sister, Victoria Bihlear of Arizona.
Ray was a loyal friend and leaves behind several close friends who will miss him dearly.
Ray was preceded in death by his devoted grandmother, Irene K. Detterer.
At Ray's request, his body will be donated to the Maryland Anatomy Board. There will be no viewing or service.
In Ray's words: "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."
